West Side Lumber Co. Flat Cars

In early 2011, the Alder Gulch tourist railroad in Virginia City MT listed a large amount of equipment surplus and was offered as scrap bids. In the list were 4 obscure West Side Lumber Co. flat cars, #277, #294, #297, and equipment flat #302. All were relatively complete, but scorched from an engine house fire.

The Western Railway Preservation Society was able to purchase the flat cars, and three were hauled back to the SVRR shops at McEwen OR. Flat #297 went to a private collection in Kansas. All have link and pin couplers, and will go well with our West Side caboose #3.
